The Arctic is at the center of atomic knowledge!
The Scientific and Educational Center "Russian Arctic", headed by the scientific director Marat Yeseev, joined the international educational project "Atomic Dictation".
My participation and NAFU students' participation in the "Atomic Dictation" is a natural stage in the development of the university's cooperation with the nuclear industry.
The university trains qualified personnel for key enterprises in the region, in particular, for nuclear shipbuilding in Severodvinsk, under the Master's degree program in Radiation and Wave Physics.
In addition, the university actively conducts research projects with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, which is part of the Russian Arctic Scientific and Educational Center and actively participates in projects," said Marat Yeseev.
This year, the Atomic Dictation was part of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Russia's exploration of the Northern Sea Route. Ruslan Sasov, captain of the nuclear icebreaker «50 Years of Victory», a symbol of the country's Arctic might, asked one of the questions to the participants.
Did you know that Russia owns the world's only fleet of nuclear icebreakers? Thanks to them, the Northern Sea Route is becoming a year-round transport artery connecting Europe and Asia.
And the Arctic holds up to a quarter of the world's oil and gas reserves, making it a region of strategic importance.
